Amazon Echo Connect for the Home & Office - Reborn 2023-2024!

With the Echo Devices you can make hands-free voice calls to any of your contacts, or video calls to friends and family who have an Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, Echo Show, or the Alexa App. . . .  

. . . and you and your virtual assistant can make calls to any contact and any phone numbers with the addition of Echo Connect.

We have been given access to limited quantities of new Echo Connect Amazon Devices. . . but Amazon has announced some potential support changes coming this month! They are currently showing out-of-stock available at our eBay site - https://www.ebay.com/itm/225800214113  - as of today. Our Echo Connects include the latest installation instructions. These 2024 installation instructions are essential for the these new Echo Connects, and for re-installation of existing Echo Connects. Here's some detail on the potential changes after February 29, 2024 from an Amazon.co.uk email:

 

 

"Dear Echo Connect Customer:

This email is to inform you that effective February 29, 2024, your Echo Connect device will no longer be supported. You will no longer be able to make or receive calls on your landline using your Echo Connect device, including emergency calling.

You can still use Alexa-enabled devices to make voice or video calls to anyone who has a supported Alexa-enabled device or the Alexa app, and you can call up to 10 mobile or landline phone numbers in the US, Canada, Mexico and UK (excluding 911, 112, 911 and other emergency numbers) to stay connected to those who do not have an Alexa-enabled device."

Another helpful test is to say "Alexa call 211" and Echo Connect will connect you to the local 211 Community Services in your area.

How to Set Up Your Echo Connect
  1. Plug in your Echo Connect.
  2. Plug one end of the included telephone cable into the back of Echo Connect. Plug the other end into:
    • A standard telephone jack (for landline phone service)
    • A Wi-Fi router (for digital phone service)
    • An Analog Telephone Adapter (for VoIP phone service)
  3. On your mobile device, open the Alexa app .
  4. Open More  and select Add a Device.
  5. Select Amazon Echo, and then Echo Connect.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.

Echo Connect needs to be setup on your Wi-Fi network. The current setup process uses only the current version of Alexa app on your mobile device.

What Do the Lights on Echo Connect Mean?
 Power LED Solid light: The device is getting power.
 Wi-Fi LED Solid light: Wi-Fi is connected.
 • Orange blinking light: The device is in setup mode.
 • No light: Echo Connect isn't connected to Wi-Fi.
 Internet LED Solid light: The device is connected to the Internet.
 • No light: The device isn't connected to the Internet.
 Phone LED Solid light: The phone line is connected.
 • Slowly blinking light: Echo Connect is on a call.
 • No light: Your phone service was not detected.
 • Rapidly blinking light: The line registration failed.

  • Connect your home/office phone to your compatible Alexa-enabled device to call any phone number, using just your voice.
  • Echo Connect uses your existing home/office phone service (analog landline or VoIP) to make and receive calls (carrier charges may apply). You can control if Alexa dials a ‘1’ for local calls or not.

Unanswered calls go to your phone’s voicemail service, if available.
